JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Security Officer
Sector : Manufacturing
Reports to: Security supervisor

Job Summary
To safeguard the people, property, assets and information by maintaining a secure working environment. The Security Officer is responsible for controlling access to company premises, monitoring security systems, conducting patrols, responding to incidents and ensuring compliance with company security policies and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY
1. Access Control and Visitor Management •Control entry/exit; verify IDs; issue visitor passes; maintain visitor and vehicle registers; prevent unauthorized access

2. Premises Security and Patrols •Conduct patrols; inspect facilities; secure gates and restricted areas; report suspicious activity

3. Asset Protection •Protect assets; monitor movement of goods; verify gate passes

4. Incident Response •Respond to emergencies; prepare incident reports; escalate serious incidents.

5. Security Monitoring •Monitor CCTV, alarms and security equipment; report faults

6. Health, Safety and Compliance •Support safety policies; participate in drills; report hazards

7. Record Keeping and Reporting •Maintain occurrence books, patrol logs and incident reports

8. Coordination and Support •Coordinate with departments; assist during events; perform assigned duties

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education.
UCE required. UACE, Certificate or Diploma in Security Management, Criminology or related field is an added advantage.

Experience
• Minimum 2 years in industrial, commercial or corporate security.
• Experience with CCTV/access control and manufacturing environment is an added advantage

Working Conditions
• Factory and office environment.
• Rotational day/night shifts.
• Weekends, holidays and overtime work may be required
